La via della costa, de Menton à Rome par la côte ligure et la Via Francigena

De la frontière franco-italienne de Menton au tombeau de saint Pierre à Rome, la via della costa longe d'abord toute la côte ligure — Vintimille, Sanremo, Imperia, Savone, Gênes, Sestri Levante, les Cinque Terre — jusqu'à Sarzana, où elle rejoint la Via Francigena qu'elle suit à travers la Toscane et le Latium : Lucca, San Gimignano, Sienne, le col de Radicofani, Viterbe, puis Rome. Environ 837 km, au relief exigeant malgré son nom côtier : près de 20 000 m de dénivelé positif, la Ligurie ne cessant de monter et descendre entre mer et montagne.
