La Magie en Chemin
Find water, (almost) everywhere you walk
🔥 New: wildfire watch — NASA satellite detections on every route, plus the Météo-France danger forecast and the air quality index on French routes.
📴 Routes you view while connected stay available even offline — including in Airplane Mode, to save battery.
Where the data comes from. Water points, fountains and toilets come from OpenStreetMap, the free map anyone can add to. They may be incomplete or wrong: always check on the spot before drinking. If you spot a missing fountain, you can add it — it will help everyone who comes after you.
The alerts update by themselves. Every three hours my server fetches the wildfire detections from NASA satellites, the fire danger and weather warnings from Météo-France, and the air quality from Atmo France. Then it lines them up along each route.
Take the route with you. Every route can be downloaded as GPX and as KML, with the track and the water points already inside. Load it into your hiking app to have it offline, out on the trail.
